Your Brain on Drums:
Intelligence, Stress Relief, ADHT treatment
Many studies explore the benefit of music of all kinds for physical and mental health and drumming has been explored extensively. Much has been written on the subject including Dr. Christiane Northrup's article Your Brain on Drums.
Numerous studies show drumming to be useful in improving the symptoms of ADHT. Research has also provided support for the positive effect of drumming experiences on social behaviors, grief, self-expression, self-esteem, group cohesion, depression, behavioral issues, bimanual coordination, and learning for children and adults both with and without disabilities.
